For the first time, a whale has beached itself on a beach on Kauai in the Hawaiian archipelago with large quantities of fishing oil in its stomach. The 17-meter-long sperm whale was spotted on a reef on Kauai on January 27, 2023. The next day, it was brought to the beach with heavy equipment, where researchers from the University of Hawaii searched for 15 hours for clues to its death.
